Mission & Goals

The Forest Park Foundation was incorporated as a Michigan nonprofit corporation on the 23rd of January, 2017. The Foundation was established for educational purposes, whose activities are anticipated to be limited to the receipt of gifts, grants and contributions; the investment of such contributions; and the making of scholarships and similar distributions to individuals and organizations as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation intends to make distributions annually, which are at least equal to the required distributable amount under IRC Section 4942. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR POST SECONDARY EDUCATION: This future activity will provide post-secondary scholarships from endowment funds to qualifying Forest Park Graduates. It will be facilitated by the Foundation in conjunction with the Forest Park Scholarship Committee. The activity will be conducted pursuant to terms of the endowment, or in the case of un-designated gifts, by the Foundation Board of Directors. Recipients and their awards will be announced in the spring of each year at the school's annual Senior Awards night and will be distributed as students attend post-secondary institutions. This activity furthers the Foundation's exempt status by the increasing educational opportunities for Forest Park students who otherwise may not be able to afford tuition at institutions of higher learning. Awards will be as determined first by the donor and the criteria (see attached) established by the Forest Park Scholarship Committee which is comprised of teachers, administrators and other certified personnel. NON-ENDOWMENT FINANCIAL GIFTS FOR POST SECONDARY EDUCATION: This future activity will provide post-secondary scholarships from financial gifts to qualifying Forest Park Graduates.
